Old Favorites and Hot New Talent Rock the Gardens this Summer at the Millennium Harvest House
Friday Afternoon Club Rockin’ The Gardens Free Concert Series Begins Friday May 9th

BOULDER, CO – With summer just around the corner, the Millennium Harvest House is gearing up for its 2008 FAC Rockin’ The Gardens Friday night free concert series. Friday Afternoon Club (FAC) is a Millennium Harvest House tradition once known for the thousands of people it attracted back when the hotel had the only liquor license in Boulder County.  FAC's have evolved into family-friendly evenings perfect for the after work crowd, couples and families.

This year, the concert series kicks off on Friday, May 9th and continues every Friday until September 19th.  The concerts begin at 5:30 pm and run until 9:30 pm in the expansive gardens at the Millennium Harvest House.

FAC Rockin the Gardens series features local, regional and national artists playing an eclectic variety of music – including everything from top 40 country to Motown and funk to jazz fusion.  Millennium Harvest House general manager, Dan Pirrallo is excited about the line-up, saying, “We’ve got some great new talent this year.  With 19 concerts, we were able to really mix it up, and still keep everyone’s favorites.”  The series will start on a high note with a jazz/jazz fusion performance by Nelson Rangell, one of the most exciting and diverse performers in this genre.   The Denver Post said of Nelson Rangell’s performance on his debut album, "this is a smooth, sweet electric confection …more versatile than David Sanborn.  He's a quintuple threat: soprano sax, alto sax, flutes and piccolo, and he writes lyrically."

To add to the enjoyment for the whole family, select concerts will also include face painting and balloons for the children.  KCUV and JACKfm, media sponsors of FAC Rockin’ The Gardens series, will host on-air interviews with the artists and special promotions throughout the series.  They’ll also do live broadcasts from the Gardens several times throughout the summer.

The Millennium Harvest House is located at 28th and Arapahoe Streets in Boulder, CO (1345 28th St.). More information on the concert series and artists is available at www.HarvestHouseFAC.com or by calling the hotel at (303) 443-3850.  For a complete concert schedule, please see page two.
